Tu Tu Toddlers
Toddlers are introduced to the world of dance through creative play and basic ballet movement. Parents are permitted to observe inside the dance room due to initial separation issues. Children are encouraged to participate in the program without parent engagement. No class Oct 31, Nov 21, or Nov 25.

Ballet Jazz Combo

Preferred Dance Attire List
You are not required to purchase these items. If you have other colors or brands do not be concerned. We also have a limited number of shoes that may be borrowed for the season.
- Tu Tu Toddlers/ Ballerina Basics/Beginner Ballet: Black or pink leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes preferred (Bloch or similar good quality shoes).
- Jazz: Solid black leotard, Light suntan tights (Capezio convertible preferred), tan split – sole gore boots preferred (Bloch or similar good quality shoes)
- Long hair should always be tied back in a ponytail or bun. We prefer hair firmed up in a tight bun for all advanced ballet classes. Tuck in laces for all laced shoes.

Carla Lewis
Carla Lewis is founder and director of Palm Beach Community Dance. She is a former professional ballet dancer and Broadway theatrical performer. Aside from teaching dance in the vicinity, she has also produced recreational Nutcracker Ballets and original Story Ballets in the the Palm Beaches.

Haylie Green
Haylie Green started dancing at the Palm Beach Gardens Recreation Center when she was around 3 years old. She danced there until she was 18 years old and fell in love with dance over those years. Haylie did many different styles of dance including ballet, jazz, pointe, and contemporary. She also joined the dance competition team and competed at local dance competitions, where she made great memories with her dance friends. After graduating high school in 2020, Haylie began to teach ballet here at the Recreation Center for the Youth Dance program. It has been 2 years since she started and she teaches Tutu Toddlers, Ballerina Basics, and Ballet Beginner 1. She loves to teach the little ones the fundamentals of ballet while having fun.

Ruth Ann Brucato
Ruth Ann Brucato originally from Massachusetts, earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance from the Boston Conservatory. She began her career as a professional dancer performing in numerous dance revues and equity productions in New York, Puerto Rico, Miami and Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Continuing her career in dance as a dance educator, Ruth Ann has taught in public schools as well as privately owned dance studios. She choreographed for local beauty pageants and dance events across southern New Jersey. She also owned and operated her own dance studio, “Step By Step Dance Studio”.
Ruth Ann will be instructing ballet and jazz classes for ages 5-11 years of age.
Cancelled Classes
At times, classes are cancelled due to low enrollment. If you are interested in taking a class that has been cancelled, please email the Recreation Department or call 561-630-1100 and put your name on a list to let us know that you are interested in that class. Once we have enough people to hold the class, we will try to restart that class.
Refund Information
All refunds must be requested in writing at any of our Recreation service desks or through the Refund Request Electronic Form.
Please be advised that refunds are processed when requested, less a $20 transaction fee per class/activity. Should a participant request a refund more than three days prior to the first class, they will receive a full refund less the transaction fee. If the class or program has started and the request for a refund is made before the third meeting of the activity, the refund will be prorated, less the transaction fee. Any request for a refund made after the third class is reviewed and the appropriate refund, if any, is determined by a committee. Refunds will not be given for missed classes unless accompanied by a doctor's note or unless a class is canceled by the Recreation Department.
