GUITAR FOR ENJOYMENT:

ADVANCED BEGINNER TO INTERMEDIATE LEVELS

This course is designed for those adults that have played guitar for enjoyment, but now want to improve their beginner skills! Let’s learn to sound great …fast! Topics will include guitar playing technique essentials, tuning, timing, strumming, and learning songs. Students must bring their own instrument. A list of required course materials will be available at registration.

ADVENTURES IN OIL & ACRYLIC

Learn to draw or paint even if you have never taken an art class. As a practicing artist, learn ways to make your drawings and paintings more accurate and more exciting! Students will work from subjects of their choice and will be encouraged to develop their own original styles to reach personal goals. Supply list available at registration. Students may arrive up to 15 minutes prior to start time.

FURTHER YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY

Become a better photographer by understanding your digital camera; learn camera settings, exposure triangle, composition, color theory, and photographic styles. On the first day, bring your digital camera and a set of up to three printed photos that you have taken. Prints can be of any size.

CREATE, PLAY, IMAGINE IN CLAY

Discover the ceramic artist in you! All levels are welcome in this class that teaches hand-building while receiving individualized attention. Initial clay and glaze fees included. Each additional 25 lb. bag of clay and glaze is $25.

WHEEL THROWING 

Learn the basic skills required for wheel throwing including wedging, centering, opening, pulling, and design considerations. Beginning potters will be given significant individual attention. Advanced students will learn to build larger forms, add texture, trimming methods, and altering. Initial clay and glaze fees included. Each additional 25 lb. bag of clay and glaze is $30.

Cancelled Classes

At times,  classes are cancelled due to low enrollment. If you are interested in taking a class that has been cancelled, please email the Recreation Department or call 561-630-1100 and put your name on a list to let us know that you are interested in that class. Once we have enough people to hold the class, we will try to restart that class.

Refund Information

All refunds must be requested in writing at any of our Recreation service desks or through the Refund Request Electronic Form.

Class Cancellation/Refund Policy

Please be advised that refunds are processed when requested, less a $20 transaction fee per class/activity. Should a participant request a refund more than three days prior to the first class, they will receive a full refund less the transaction fee. If the class or program has started and the request for a refund is made before the third meeting of the activity, the refund will be prorated, less the transaction fee. Any request for a refund made after the third class is reviewed and the appropriate refund, if any, is determined by a committee. Refunds will not be given for missed classes unless accompanied by a doctor's note or unless a class is cancelled by the Recreation Department.
