Carl W. Woods

Carl W. Woods was born and raised in Los Angeles County, California. Carl served his country as an active duty member of the United States Air Force from 1981-1985 and thereafter continued in a reserve position at Patrick Air Force Base in Cocoa Beach, Florida until 1987. He has been a Palm Beach County resident since 1985 and resident of Palm Beach Gardens since 1999, where he proudly raised his son; a Florida State senior.

As a certified police officer, Carl began his law enforcement career in 1986 with the Town of Jupiter. During his time with the Jupiter Police Department, Carl began his education in the areas of vehicle homicide and traffic enforcement. He was assigned to the motor division for the Town of Jupiter for four and a half years.

In 1992, Carl's career advanced to a position with the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department, ultimately being assigned as a motor officer within the traffic division. During this time, through a competitive process, he became the number one motor officer in the country. Carl was transferred to the vehicle homicide unit where, over his 16-year career, he became an expert in this field.

After retirement from the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department, Carl continued to serve his community as a reserve police officer for Palm Beach Gardens, and then the Town of Jupiter until 2015. Using his specialized skills, he continues a private practice which serves the legal community. Carl's business does work all over the United States and Canada.

Carl is proud to be serving our community once again. His commitment to the residents and guests is for this City to do everything possible to ensure the highest level of safety and quality of life, and that the opportunity is unmatched by any other municipality in the country.
